The Pink Egg

A lot of you may have heard about the +Beautyblender but thought, what could possibly be SO special about a sponge that would make me want to spend $20 on it? Well, you can use this for up to four months, so that $20 goes a long way. This is not your average "sponge", it is non-latex and super soft. The beauty blender cuts your application time in half. It will give you a very even, dewy, streak-free look effortlessly! All you really have to do is dab away with zero complications. It is most effective when damp, just run it under warm water and squeeze the extras out. This is an egg shaped sponge, use the pointy top to really get in those hard to reach areas and the bottom to bounce on your face. Just make sure to wash it after every 2-3 uses, you can either purchase the cleanser or use baby shampoo.

Mascara Madness

L'Oreal Voluminous

Hi, my I can’t stress enough how much mascara is a MUST, no questions asked. My favourite is actually quite cheap. You can find it at your local drug store for about $8 or even less if they are on sale. This mascara will give you the length and volume you've been searching for. I mostly get it in the colour carbon black to make my eyes look more fierce and dramatic. What I really love is that you can apply coats and coats of this stuff, not having to worry about any clumping. I apply this on both of my top & bottom lashes. I have tried multiple other high end/drugstore mascaras but don't feel as they do the job quite like this one! Thank you L'Oreal.

Are you as impatient as I am?

Hi, my name is Rita and I have a serious problem with painting my nails. I cannot bear to look at my nails polish-less. For some reason I just feel naked. If you know me, you know that I will never step a foot out of my house without my nails perfectly done. If the polish has chipped on ONE of my nails, you bet that they are all coming off along with it, and a new polish is coming right back on. The only issue with this is that, as I do like to have my nails always done...I don't have the patience to wait for them to dry. Therefore I almost always end up smudging one of my nails because I trick myself to believe that they are dry enough. Well, that was until I began trying all sorts of "quick" top coats. Although there isn't a magic potion that will make your nails go from wet, to dry in seconds, there are plenty of different things you can do to sort of speed up the process. Here are my current two favourites.

Here is my number ONE!

Take YEARS off your skin!

To those of you who have no idea what the photo below really is, please keep on reading and I assure you, you will thank me later.

Let me introduce you to my best friend Claire, also known as the "Clarisonic Mia". Claire and I have been the best of friends throughout the course of this year...But let me just say we did have our downs. When I first decided to purchase the clarisonic, all I wanted to do was go home and use it. After hearing all the raves about it, I knew I was going to love it. But, like I said we did have our down fall. When I began using it, I completely broke out, and when I say break out, I mean BIG painful pimples EVERYWHERE. They were so bad that my friends began giving them names like "Billy" or "Bob". I hated what it did to my face, but decided that I wouldn't give up just yet, and boy am I happy I stuck through it. I've learnt that when you first start using the clarisonic you could go through a "purging phase". Don't be angry with your clarisonic, it is just getting all the underlying grime in your skin. Once that phase is over you will start to see what I am talking about. Whatever you do, DO NOT give up! Now you may be asking, what does it REALLY do? Well, when you wash your face, you are not actually getting all the makeup off, this little guy removes makeup up to six times better than your traditional methods. It also clears your pores, and helps minimize the appearance of pores. It also helps so that your makeup absorbs into your skin better, allowing you to use less product for a more flawless finish. I use this twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. If you are just beginning to use it, try using it once a week and then moving on to once a day and then finally twice a day. I press the on button to turn it on and then gently move the brush in a circular motion, starting on my forehead, moving to the nose area and the cheeks. I try to make this a part of my daily skincare regimen so that I have smooth looking & feeling skin.

Hair, Hair & Some More Hair!

For me personally, my hair is very important. I am so caught up on trying to find ways to make it longer, thicker, healthier and so on. Whenever a new product comes out that claims to "repair" your hair, you can bet I am one of the firsts in line willing to try it out. I mean, which girl doesn't feel this way? With all the different things from products, to heat we put on our hair...I'm sure we can all agree that we all put our hair in misery by damaging it. Here are a few things I do to keep my hair in a healthy, beautiful state.

Firstly I try to use the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque, at least once a week. I have tried many other treatments and always end up reverting back to this one. For some reason, it just seems to work great with my hair. It will reconstruct your dry, brittle, damaged hair, and you will see a huge improvement after only the FIRST use. It combines Macadamia, Argon oil, Tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extract. What I do is, take a shower and shampoo/condition my hair as I normally would. When I get out I brush through my wet hair, and begin applying this in mainly focusing on my ends. I then put my hair into a braid, and leave it in for about 20 minutes (the package suggests to leave it in only for 7 minutes, but I feel that 15-20 gives you that extra boost that all our hair desperately needs). Once my 20 minutes are up, I quickly rinse it out and hello beautiful shiny hair. Keep in mind this is a deep treatment and shouldn't be used more than 2 times a week.

Another one of my go-to hair products is the Paul Mitchell extra-body daily boost root lifter. Have you ever sat there and thought to yourself, why do all these celebrities have the nicest fully volumed hair? Wondering on what it is you have to do to get the same look? Well, you have come to the right spot....Paul Mitchell has the perfect combination to not only give you that extra lift that you're looking for, but also helps to protect your hair from heat styling. I put a few sprays mainly on my roots, and then spray the palms of my hands and run them through the rest of my hair. After I've finished blow drying,  my hair looks shiny, thick and full of body! If you're like me then you most likely don't like that sticky feeling in your hair, rest assured you will not see that with this product.

When I was younger, I for some reason could not decide between blond hair, and my natural brunette hair. Going back and forth between colours truly damaged my hair. The ends of my hair were breaking off, and super dry. I finally decided to take action and die my hair back to my natural dark brown hair colour and made a promise to myself that I wouldn't dye it anymore. Everyone had told me about a supplement called "Biotin". I then started taking it religiously, and let me just say WOW. Biotin does not only benefit your hair, but also your nails and skin, I mean to me its just a win, win, and did I say WIN?! This was certainly not an overnight dramatic change. I actually didn't see much of a difference until about 3 months after. My hair has become thicker & my nails have become much stronger. I take two 5000 mcg per day with lots of water! It is also very affordable so you have nothing to lose. You can purchase this at any of your health food, or vitamin store, Hope this helps.

Also if you can try limiting the heat you use in your hair, I swear your hair would thank you if it could. What I try to do during the week is, after I shower I put my hair in a tight braid and go to sleep. When I wake up the next morning for work, I  undo the braid and run my fingers through it so that I have nice loose-like waves/curls without the extra heat. Also, if you are one who uses the hair straighter to straighten your hair, I suggest you invest in a good blow dryer and begin practising on blow drying, rather than straitening your hair.

My Favorite Eye Pallete

Gift from the heavens.

Let me start by saying, this is one of my number one staples in my makeup kit. I purchased this from Sephora for $52 over half a year ago, and have been seriously OBSESSED since then. This palette here can take you anywhere from a simple every day, to a night out on the town makeup look. When I am travelling, I not only double, but triple check to make sure this isn't left behind. Rather than having to carry multiple different eye shadows, I know I can pack this and be able to achieve whatever makeup look I am going for. This "gift from heavens" contains 12 beautiful shades. I usually either prime my eyes with the urban decay potion, or macs paint pot in painterly, and then begin blending these bad boys in!

Here is a smoky eye look I created for my birthday. I mainly used the colours booty call, tease, blackout, snakebite, and busted. If you would like for me to create a step by step "how to", please comment below.
